Many years ago I had a Boxford lathe, which is slightly larger than the Myford, & more industrial. I bought a cheapo vertical slide, & it was frankly useless. Then someone lent me a Myford vertical slide, & the difference was immediately noticable. Howwever, as Billmac says, milling on something like a Myford is pretty much a waste of time & money.
